In recent years multiparametric MRI (mpMRI) of the prostate has become more widely available. This is a highly specialised radiological test that allows unparalled pictures of an individuals prostate, pelvic lymph nodes and neighbouring structures.

• Allow computer targeted biopsies if a lesion is found

• Closely surveil a patient with a low grade prostate cancer with less need for subsequent prostate biopsies

• Decide about precise erectile nerve sparing operation

It is the most precise imaging modality of prostate gland and will identify 80% of clinically significant prostate cancers.
